The Way to Heaven

There are big questions that haunt all of us. What happens when I die?  Where will I spend eternity?  But the single most important question that you will ever answer is this - “If I were to die today, would I spend eternity in Heaven with God?” Your relationship to Jesus Christ is central to the answer to that question.

The Bible tells us in I John 5:13, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life...” The simple truth is God wants you to know where you're going! So, here it is in a nutshell:

What you must know and believe...

The Bible, God’s Word, shows the way to Heaven; it reveals the things you must know and believe in order to go to Heaven:

God loves you.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

We are all sinners.

Romans 3:9 says, “…we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin.”

Romans 3:10 says, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one.”

Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

What is Sin?

What is sin?

I John 3:4 says, "...whosoever commiteth sin transgresseth [is violating] also the law: for sin is the transgression [violation] of the law."

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: (verse 5) Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them…

3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain…

4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it Holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work…

5. Honour thy father and thy mother…

6. Thou shalt not kill.

7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8. Thou shalt not steal.

9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

10. Thou shalt not covet {desire that which is unlawful to obtain or possess; desire what belongs to another}…

James 2:10 says, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

The penalty for sin is death and Hell.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…”

Revelation 21:8 says, “But the fearful and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Jesus paid the penalty for our sins.

Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth [showed] His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ [God manifest in the flesh] died for us.”

Romans 6:23b says, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Jesus Christ was raised bodily from the dead.

John 20:27-28 gives the words of the resurrected Christ to doubting Thomas: “Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”

Hebrews 7:25 says, "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."

In order to be saved (delivered or set free from sin), you must REPENT of your sins and BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ.
REPENTANCE is that voluntary change in the mind of the sinner in which he turns from sin.
BELIEF, that is, faith in Christ, is that voluntary change in the mind of the sinner in which he turns to Christ and trusts him as Lord and Saviour.

Luke 13:3 says, “…except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

Acts 3:19 says, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…”

Romans 10:9, 10 say, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raise Him form the dead, thou shalt be saved, for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness…”

Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you believe these truths from the Bible, and if you want to be saved (delivered or set free from sin), call upon the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him to save you.

If you have called upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save you and opened your heart to receive Him, He has promised to come in.

John 1:12 says, “But as many as receive Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.”

Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him and he with me.”

*If you have opened your heart to Christ, and called upon him for Salvation, please let us know so we can help you take the next steps in your relationship with Christ.
